Canfora Sandals is a family-owned business that makes luxury shoes for women. Since its founding in 1946, the original boutique has been in the same location in Capri, Italy. Known for adorning the feet of such style icons as Jackie Kennedy, Grace Kelly, and Naomi Campbell, these handmade sandals are great for summer. A large variety of colors and styles make these sandals simple enough for a stroll on the boardwalk or the perfect accessory for a classy cocktail party.
Handmade with real leather and bold stones and gems, these sandals are truly pieces of art that will add below-the-ankle glam to any of your summer outfits. With an array of styles, colors, and even heel heights to choose from, you really can’t go wrong with these statement pieces. Choose from the simpler Make It Easy collection, which includes solid and tri-colored T-straps (including a red, white and blue pair perfect for this month), or the more elaborate selections from the So Capri, Capri Bells, and Antiqua lines.
The sandals in the Capri Bells collection are truly ornamental pieces, complete with colorful pendant charms and Swarovski crystals. This collection starts at 280 € ($343.42), and is sure to gain you some attention on your summer stroll. Other favorites come from the Capri’s Light collection, which sports large Italian stones mounted in gold, and the Sunshine collection, whose items are adorned with colored rhinestones and diamonds.
Of course, the First Lady collection is available in honor of two of the White House’s most historic fashionistas. Back in the day, the brand’s founder Amadeo Canfora was known to open the shop late at night just to let Jackie Kennedy pick out her favorite sandals. Today, the “K” sandal is named for her. This style was apparently Jackie O’s favorite, featuring a triangle made of braided medal rings. The “Michelle,” named for Mrs. Obama herself, is a bit more patriotic, but just as classy. This sandal has a triangle composed of American flags in silver metal, making it great for a summer party.
